ALVA Yachts, the German builder of luxury electric solar catamarans and sail boats, is pleased to announce the introduction of the OCEAN ECO 78, a 23.7m multihull yacht with electric propulsion and transatlantic range.

Designed with luxury, safety and performance in mind, it boasts the latest technology developments, surpassing self-sufficient competitors.

As with ALVA Yachts’ existing models in the ECO range, the 78 has been designed with responsible yachting at its core. Its expansive roof has been specifically conceived for its integrated solar panels, giving her a transatlantic range and virtually unlimited autonomy, as the panels take energy from the sun and store it in the battery packs that power the electric engines.

In the full-electric variant, the 78 is powered by two 217kW electric motors, connected to a 280-490kWh battery pack, which is powered by sun and generators. The solar panels reach 26kWp (Kilowatt peak), which is best in class compared to competitors, while the diesel generators produce 2 x100kW/ DC each.

Access to the water is easy from her twin bathing platforms. From bow to stern, this remarkable 12m beamed catamaran offers impressive space, modern style and stable sailing. The lower deck is appointed with plush U-shaped seating for eight guests, perfect for al fresco dining or sunset cocktails. From here, guests can access the enclosed saloon and spectacular entertaining area. The generous galley comes complete with full size fridge-freezer and features a large separate island with bar and stools. To starboard, a large dining table for eight provides the perfect spot for family and friends to enjoy a meal.

A large L-shaped observation seating area accompanies the helm station with commanding views forward. Mid-ship two side companionways lead to the lower deck and accommodation.

The 78 benefits from a generous master suite, complete with ensuite and separate walk-in wardrobe. Completing the starboard side is an additional double guest cabin with ensuite.

Further guest accommodation is located within the portside hull and features a double room and twin room with plenty of storage space and both offer ensuite double shower facilities.

The lower deck is complete with twin drop down terraces providing sunbathing options on both sides of the yacht.

The fore deck provides another social space with two separate seating arrangements plus oversized sunbeds, complete with ample storage and refrigeration options.

Its unique main deck, penthouse-style salon, and luxurious staterooms offer a new-found design direction and material selection providing elegant interiors to enchant any owner. The layering of textural elements and the mix of furnishings and fabrics feels timeless with a modern twist that exudes quality, simplicity, and sophistication.

Milan Henn, Head of Design at ALVA Yachts, said:

“The new OCEAN ECO 78 was created as the perfect addition to our existing range, and sits between the OCEAN ECO 60 and 90 models providing owners with a generous increase in size from the 60 but removing the need for crew on the 90. This new model offers everything the 60 does but on a larger scale.”

Just like the other models in the ALVA range, the 78 is designed for adventures and as a true ocean-going cruising yacht.

As is customary with all ALVA models, owners can choose one of five moods for the interior of their yacht; Mountain, Forest, Desert, Dune and Sea this allows customers to start their journey on how they would like their boat to look in terms of colours, fabrics, and materials.

ALVA Yachts is bringing yachting into a new era with electrified solar catamarans and sailing yachts that combine self-sufficient, long-range cruising capabilities and class-leading design, delivering the best boats for forward-thinking explorers.
